Ravenfield is a very exciting band, who we have already interviewed some time ago. Now, with the release of PAIN and featuring Michelle Darkness, Polo (lead singer) tells us a bit about it.

We have already interviewed Ravenfield, and I am a very keen supporter of bands that have already appeared here before, because new things change fast. So, to get us started again, let’s talk about what changed with you guys in the last two years?

Hello, and first we like to thank you for inviting us again for an interview. So what has changed? Not so much, because during this corona pandemic we had no chance to change a lot. No gigs, no tour. So we’ve done the only thing we could do, writing new songs and record the new album. And we had much time to do that J

The Pain is your new record, coming out this year. Could you tell us more about the production of this album?

As I said we spent a lot of time in the production. We started with a detailed pre-production, arranged the songs, tried different sounds and so on. After that we went into the studio (Darkland Studios of Michelle Darkness) well prepaired (this time) and did the final recordings together with Michelle Darkness. The collaboration was outstanding (I think more for us than for Michelle J ) and we are more than happy with the result.

The song The Pain has the collaboration (and also the mastering and mixing) of Michelle Darkness from End of Green. How did this participation come about?

During the process of songwriting it was clear that we will record this album with Michelle. And when I wrote The Pain I had the idea that Michelle can be a part of this song. We asked him and he accepted immediately.

Still about the track you released, it is clear that we have a deeper sound, more atmospheric and more oriented to gothic rock. What will the sonority of The Pain be like? What can we expect from it?

Meanwhile PAIN is released so you can hear it. But if I should describe the sound I would say it is heavy DarkRock with a big touch of emotions and melancholy.

Compared to Faith and Fall, it can be noticed there is a stronger orientation to metal and gothic rock, which brings me to a question: what have you been listening to recently?

I can just answer for myself and the truth is that I do not listen to music that much. And than all kinds of rock and metal. But when I write songs I have no specific band or sound in mind. I just let the ideas flow and create songs out of that. Of course there are some influences but nothing specific.

Now that we are finally getting some light at the end of the tunnel with Covid under control and with the reopening of concert venues, how are the preparations for live performances going? Is there any chance of seeing Ravenfield playing somewhere?

We hope so. We’ve planned some Gigs and Festivals in Germany and hopefully in Europe as well. So we will be back on stage 2022.

With the release of The Pain, what are the plans for the future? Do you have anything in thoughts?

At first we want to go back on stage. That is the most important thing for us after this long time without any concerts. We will release one or two more videos this year. We will see what the next month will bring us.

I wanted to thank you once again for the interview, and as you probably know, this is the space for a message to our readers. Let’s go!

We have to thank you !!!

And in these very sad and difficult times just two things: respect each other and stop war !

Thank you and cheerz
